Sprints

The Advantages and Benefits of Sprints are Many…

1.  Sprints do not require a gym or any equipment, so anyone can do them and they cost you nothing.

2.  Sprints are an all-natural exercise, you can not do them wrong.  Just run as hard and fast as you can.

3.  Sprints are the perfect exercise for anyone looking to lose weight or get cut up if they are already muscular.

4.  Running all-out full-speed high-intensity sprints will train your body, your muscles, and your heart, to work overtime.  This will make you a better athlete and help you with the other workouts in your training regimen.

5.  Running full-speed will make you naturally more agile and flexible.

6.  Sprints will add a very nice dimension to your body’s appearance.  Only sprints can carve your body into the shape of a sprinter (which is very sleek and muscular).

7.  Sprints force your body to release massive amounts of human growth hormone and testosterone.  Sprints put a tremendous load on your body for a very short period of time.  Running sprints in intervals like the workout described below will help you a lot with all of your fitness goals!  Also, running sprints all out and releasing growth hormone means you will look younger!

8.  Sprints do not require a lot of time.  My sprint workout is 30 minutes or less.

My Awesome Sprint Workout

I do 5 sets of shuttle runs, a distance of 30 yards, with 3 back-and-forth trips making up one set.  I take a timed 2-minute break in between each set.  After the 5 sets are done, I run 5 single 60 yard sprints, running 60 yards all-out, then walking back to the starting point, and immediately sprinting again.

A shuttle run is where you run back and forth between two set points for a set number of times.  I approximate a distance of 30 yards.  Then I sprint down to the 30 yard mark, then sprint back to the starting point.  I do this 30 yard down-and-back 2 more times, and that is one complete set.

I love my sprints.  I love to lift weights, but I also truly value taking a day off from the weight room to go full-throttle out on a baseball field or at the park.  Do yourself a favor and try this workout.  You’ll be surprised at how difficult, challenging, and fun it can be!
