Plyometrics are a great exercise that offer a wide range of benefits to any athlete or person interested in fitness, gaining greater muscle power, speed, and agility.
My main experiences with plyometrics have been the P90X workout program and the Insanity workout program. I find that these programs are a great and challenging addition to my workouts. I feel much stronger, quicker, and springier after doing these workouts.
Plyometrics do not require any equipment and you can do them just about anywhere. Many people DO NOT DO plyometrics because they’re not the latest fitness craze. They’re classic exercises just like lifting weights, running sprints, and jumping rope, but they really work and offer tremendous benefits to those who do them.
Plyometrics are a great substitute for traditional long, boring cardio sessions. I personally like to do workouts which offer multiple benefits. I like to focus on explosiveness of movements and full-body agility, and plyomtrics take these qualities to a higher level of performance.
